About Us

The Sproule family started Salisbury Greenhouse and Landscaping 45 years ago. Helen Sproule initially grew bedding plants in the garage as a hobby in 1965. She soon realized she had too many for her own use and began selling them to the neighbours. Three short years later, Fred Sproule left his full-time job to work with his wife in the family business. All of Helen and Fred's six children helped out in the business. Bob Sproule, their oldest son, came to work full-time at the greenhouse in 1975. Salisbury Greenhouse began operating year-round in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Originally located in a rural area of the county, Salisbury Greenhouse is now surrounded by Sherwood Park city lots and acreages. Since the 1990s, it has become known for its exceptional home-grown quality, staff expertise, and innovative styles. In 2006, Bob’s three sons bought into the company, so now there are 4 owners. With so much energy and youth focused on the business, it’s going to be an exciting time to come!
